<p>•             Conduct a visual inspection of lifting equipment and tools for safe operation.</p>
<p>•             At beginning of set-up inspect dies for proper date and check waterlines for proper flow before installing the die.</p>
<p>•             Use a forklift and crane in a safe manner.  Ensure valid licenses are maintained.</p>

<p>•             Power up machine and retract die using lock-out procedure again once die is open.</p>

<p>A Die Cast Operator is responsible for safely operating a die casting machine to produce high quality aluminum parts.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<p>•             Conduct a visual walk around inspection at the beginning of each shift.  Ensure the machine is not locked out or that someone is working on the machine. Continually scan for obvious leaks or other conditions, which may prohibit safe machine operation.</p>
<p>•             Spray the mould to prevent the aluminum casting from sticking to the mould.</p>
<p>•             While the die cast machine is in its cycle mode, visually inspect the die cast gates to assess the quality of parts produced.</p>
<p>•             Take corrective action to resolve any defects using spray techniques, where required, to influence the die temperature.</p>
<p>•             Maintain the level of the holding furnace.  Maintain the furnace level by placing ingots on the bed of the loader in order for the loader to feed automatically.</p>
<p>•             Effectively communicate to the next operator at shift change, proper spray pattern and any visual or dimensional defects.</p>
<p>•             Report all casting defects to Team Leader and/or Supervisor.</p>
<p>•             Meet production targets.</p>

<p>The Industrial Millwright is responsible for safely installing and maintaining machinery and supporting structures according to manufacturer’s specifications.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:</p>
<p>•Safely use hand and power tools, as well as, safely install machinery, supporting equipment and structures such as motors, pumps, bearings on all machinery and equipment.</p>
<p>•Must be able to read and understand blue prints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.</p>
<p>•Operate metal working machines such as grinders, drill presses, milling machines and lathes.</p>
<p>•Must be familiar with and be able to perform the erection of scaffolds, simple rigging to erect or dismantle machines. Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other necessary hand tools.</p>
<p>•Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.</p>
<p>•Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, levels and plumb line.</p>
<p>•Test reassembled equipment and make necessary adjustments or repairs as required. This would include a wide variety of die casting and machining processing/production systems.</p>
<p>•Rebuild mechanical equipment required for Die Cast and CNC operations and on all other plant machinery and equipment as required.</p>
<p>•Repairs or replaces parts, such as bearings, filters, light fixtures (flood lights), water lines and timing and adjustment parts.</p>
<p>•Install piping systems for air, water or gas as required.</p>
<p>•Carry out the preventative and predictive maintenance program and all necessary documentation.</p>
<p>•Track and document monthly PM reports and daily work orders in a timely fashion, identify equipment breakdown causes and minimize equipment downtime.</p>
<p>•Work with or without an electrical technician to troubleshoot equipment.</p>
<p>•Use equipment, materials and machinery only as authorized, and operate equipment in a manner that does not endanger themselves or other workers.</p>

<p>The Trim Press Operator is responsible for safely operating a trim press machine to trim high quality aluminum parts from a die cast machine according to the defined process.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<p>The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:</p>
<p>•             Maintain continuous operation of the trim press machine.</p>
<p>•             Perform quality gauging, SPC etc. as determined by the job specific control plan.</p>
<p>•             Perform a full Statistical Process Control check.  Log inspection data into the computer according to control plan.</p>
<p>•             Complete all necessary paperwork (ie. pre-start safety checks, scrap, good parts produced, downtime, production sheets, bin tags, In-process sheets, etc.)</p>
<p>•             Effectively communicate to the next operator at shift change, of any visual or dimensional defects.</p>
<p>•             Understand trim inspection procedures, and make checks as necessary per control plan. Notify Team Leader or Supervisor of any visual or dimensional defects.</p>
<p>•             Complete a pre-start safety check prior to shift commencement.  Equipment must be thoroughly checked by the operator (ie. guard protection, blow-off hose, hydraulics) to ensure proper function, including the safety ratchet. Safety checks and initials must be documented on the production sheet.</p>
<p>•             Use a hand tool where necessary to improve a finish on a part.</p>
<p>•             Report hydraulic/coolant leaks to Shift Supervisor.</p>
<p>•             Ensure that all unacceptable parts be counted and disposed of into scrap bin located at the trim press.</p>
<p>•             Meet production targets.</p>
<p>•             General housekeeping around the work area, such as sweeping and shoveling aluminum debris off the machine, gauging tables and floor.</p>
<p><strong>ESSENTIAL SKILLS &amp; QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>
<p>•             Completion of high school diploma or equivalent work experience.</p>
<p>•             Detail oriented.</p>

<p>Orlick Industries Ltd is a leading supplier in the automotive marketplace, providing precision machined aluminum casting.  We are looking for Die Repair Apprentices to join our team.</p>
<p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY</strong></p>
<p>This position is opportunity for a candidate with an interest in Tool and Die to become a Die Repair Apprentice and learn from the expertise in our Tool Shop.  A proven track record having the ability to learn quickly and being mechanically inclined will make you successful in this role.  The identified candidates will be joining the Tool Shop team as a Die Repair Apprentice. They will learn to effectively and efficiently repair mould dies for production and prototypes and will report to the Tooling Supervisor.</p>
<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p>
<p>•             Cleaning moulds and take apart and assemble moulds</p>
<p>•             General housekeeping around work area</p>
<p>•             Use various machines (i.e.: mills/lathes) to carry out tasks</p>
<p>•             Weld and refit surfaces; refinish edges; bring tool back up to spec</p>
<p>•             Review schedule for upcoming jobs</p>
<p>•             Assist other Tool Shop personnel as required</p>
<p>•             Communicate and work effectively with work-team members and all other members of the company</p>
<p>•             Interest in obtaining certificate of qualification as a Tool and Die / Mould Maker</p>

<p>•             Troubleshooting and problem solving skills</p>
<p>•             Strong time management and job planning skills</p>
<p>•             Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision</p>
