<td width="80%">Ensures effective communications and responds to Customer questions about produce  merchandise and provides requested assistance, such as verifying whether a specific produce product is in stock.   Ensures a safe and clean environment by maintaining safety standards, including the safe handling of produce.   Performs maintenance; and cleaning, including keeping floors free from debris as  required by the Produce Department.   Monitors area for signs of shrink and potential security risks, and contacts management and/or In- Store Loss Prevention when problems are identified.   Receives produce items by unloading from delivery vehicles, moving produce items to the  backroom area through the use of pallet jacks and facility carts, and placing merchandise in holding areas, such as produce coolers.   Completes and maintains required paperwork, such as throwaway record sheets, and assignment  notes.   Assists in maintaining accurate and competitive pricing by electronically verifying pricing by scanning UPC codes to ensure the accuracy of signing.   Ensures Produce merchandise is stocked by properly receiving and stocking merchandise on  racks, shelves, and displays, including regularly pulling merchandise from coolers, bringing merchandise forward, taking damaged goods to the Claims Department, and restocking  merchandise returned from other areas.   Demonstrates and utilizes product knowledge about the types of merchandise in the Produce  Department, including providing basic information about the product and product use.   Maintains the overall appearance of the Produce Department by keeping merchandise and displays  fully stocked, properly signed, neat, clean, and organized.   Adheres to standards and policies for product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates, including identifying and removing merchandise that is damaged, outdated, or unacceptable in appearance  to ensure quality and freshness.   Primary job responsibilities and functions are listed below. <td width="80%">Ensures effective communication and responds to Customer questions about deli merchandise, and provides requested assistance, such as verifying whether a specific meat product is in stock.</td>

<td width="80%">Takes orders for Meat Department merchandise; slices and prepares merchandise, such as meat.  Prepares chicken by using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and fills prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and specialty orders from Customers as required.<br />
Merchandising: Assists in maintaining accurate and competitive pricing by electronically verifying prices by scanning UPC codes to ensure the accuracy of signing.   Ensures Meat Department is stocked by properly receiving and stocking merchandise on racks,  shelves and displays, including regularly pulling and bringing merchandise forward, storing according to procedures, retrieving merchandise from freezers and coolers, placing merchandise in appropriate locations in displays and shelves, and removing distressed or unacceptable merchandise to be disposed of or processed for claims.</td>

Sort apparel merchandise by FIFO (first in, first out) guidelines (this means the first merchandise in, is the first merchandise out). Sending all damaged garments to the Claims area for processing. Ensuring all garments have a react ticket. Test scanning to ensure the price on the react ticket is correct, if different due to a price adjustment place new retail price onto the react ticket Ensure apparel area maintained to standard with season code tags. Ensure bin standards are maintained in inventory prep condition for case merchandise. Ensuring backroom is kept neat and clean. Understanding how to use the handheld terminal properly. Practices safe work habits by: Stretching/warming-up prior to shift. Following emergency and safety procedures. Following Health and Safety guidelines. Cleaning spills immediately. Keeping the backroom areas N.C.O. and free of fixtures and unnecessary debris. Maintaining unblocked and unlocked exits. Using proper lifting techniques. Stable stacking of merchandise.
